Fairfield schools' closure extended through Friday because of Sandy

Fairfield public schools will now be closed for the rest of the week as a result of the widespread power outages and the continuing storm cleanup in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

School officials had initially closed schools through Wednesday because of the storm.

On Wednesday, they decided to extend that closure through Thursday and Friday.
