The town of Fairfield's leaf collection will take place over four weeks beginning Monday, Nov. 12, and end Dec. 10 for all neighborhoods outside the town's Greenfield Hill section.

There is no specific daily pickup schedule and leaves must be curbside each week in unsealed biodegradable paper bags by 6 a.m. Monday to assure pick-up some time that week, according to a release. Loose leaves, brush, branches, wood, grass, leaves in plastic bags or bags placed outside of the town right-of-way, such as along driveways, inside stonewalls or fences for example, will not be picked up.

Greenfield Hill residents should call the town garage at 203-256-3177 on Monday, Nov. 19, to arrange for leaf pickup before Thanksgiving and may call the following week of Nov. 26 for one more pick-up, the release states.

Residents are reminded not to rake leaves into the gutter or street to prevent blockage of catch basins and keep catch basin grates near their homes clear of leaves and debris to prevent local flooding.
