Fairfield streets closed for Bridgeport firefighter's funeral procession

Several roads in Fairfield will be closed to traffic Friday afternoon, as a funeral procession for one of the two Bridgeport firefighters killed during a house fire makes its way through the Stratfield section of town for his burial in a local cemetery.

Firefighter Michael Baik will be buried in Lawncroft Cemetery, off Black Rock Turnpike and Burroughs Road, following a 2 p.m. funeral service in St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church on upper Park Avenue in Bridgeport.

The following streets and intersections in Fairfield will be closed to traffic from about 1:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, according to police:

"¢ Merritt Parkway Exit 47 ramp

"¢ Park Avenue, from Merritt Parkway Exit 47 to Geduldig Street

"¢ Jefferson Street, from Merritt Parkway Exit 46 to Park Avenue

"¢ Burroughs Road, from Farist Road to Black Rock Turnpike

"¢ And temporary closures and delays should be expected on Stratfield Road, Fairfield Woods Road, Burroughs Road and Black Rock Turnpike throughout the afternoon.
