Fairfield student art work to be shown at Pequot Library this year

The 40th annual Townwide Student Art Show will be held at the Pequot Library Tuesday, May 27, through Thursday, May 29. More than 800 pieces of art will be on display. The show includes art work from Fairfield's two high schools, three middle schools and 11 elementary schools.
A special showing of Advanced Placement studio art will be on exhibition in the Pequot's Perkin Gallery from May 27 through June 9. The exhibition features work of advanced art students at Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde high schools.
A reception will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The reception will include refreshments in a tent outside, and lawn games and activities for children on Pequot's Great Lawn. Jazz musicians Mark Edinberg and Steve Clarke will perform during the reception.
Hours for the art show are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 27 through May 29 in the library's auditorium/concert hall, reading room, and in the Perkin Gallery. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
