Each year, the Stamford Art Association showcases Fairfield County high school students' work in a professionally juried exhibit, and also awards scholarships and prizes to young artists. This year, several Fairfield students received awards.

Taking first place in photography/printmaking was Jack Maffucci, from Fairfield Ludlowe, for "Hostage of Her Mind," and for mixed media, Elizabeth Brown from Fairfield Warde, for "Springs of Joy."

A second-place award in acrylic landscape went to Carolyn Yates, a Fairfield Ludlowe student, for "Montauk Skies." Megan Saladino, from Fairfield Warde, got a third-place award in painting for "Milk Man," and an honorable mention in drawing was earned by Emily Brennan, from Fairfield Warde, for "Cara."

The students' works are on display at the Stamford Art Association. They will be presented with the awards at a reception this month.
