It's as much a Fairfield Thanksgiving tradition as turkey, watching the annual gridiron clash between hometown rivals Ludlowe and Warde, and a post-banquet stroll along the town's sweeping beaches.

Only a lot more energetic.

It was the Pequot Runners' 34th annual Thanksgiving Day 5-Mile Road Race and 2.7-Mile Fitness, but everybody hereabouts knows it simply by the name, "Turkey Trot."

And so once again this Thanksgiving tradition was served up under bright, brisk skies Thursday morning, as thousands set forth in Southport along the two invigorating courses.
