FAIRFIELD — A 4-year-old sneaked out of the house while her older sister was sleeping but was quickly scooped up by the neighborhood’s mailman Tuesday.
According to police, the toddler’s 19-year-old sister was babysitting, and the two had been asleep next to each other. At some point, the 4-year-old woke up, got out of bed and unlocked the home’s deadbolt. She walked across Tunxis Hill to the CLASP group home across the street, where the mailman corralled her, and called police from the group home.
When police responded, the older sister was outside calling for her sister. Police said the little girl was only out of the house for a few minutes, and no charges were filed.
