A March of Dimes fundraising walk at Jennings Beach on Sunday, May 4, raised $125,000 to help support prenatal care and programs for infants, the charity announced.
About 800 people participated in the walk, and the money raised was earmaked for Yale New Haven Hospital Children's prenatal programs, research, neonatal intensive care unit and other services, March of Dimes officials said.
The Fairfield walk was one of nine conducted by March of Dimes between April 27 and March 4. Collectively, they had a goal of raising $1.2 million, the charity said.
