The weekend should start nicely, according to the National Weather Service, with mostly sunny skies this morning and a high temperature of about 42 degrees.

The rest of the forecast for southwestern Connecticut, however, is not so bright.

Rain starts tonight, according to the NWS, as clouds move in on a south wind 6 to 15 mph becoming east. Rainfall could amount to between a tenth and quarter of an inch. Temperatures will be in the mid-30s.

On Sunday, the rain is expected to continue as the daytime temperature rises into the mid-50s. It will be breezy, with a southeast wind between 18 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Precipitation could be between 1 and 2 inches.

Rain is predicted to fall Sunday night as well, as the temperature falls to the low-40s.

And by Monday, more rain is forecast before 2 p.m., with a later chance of snow showers.
