A Fairfield woman is accused of stealing money from tips jars at a Westport bagel shop late last year.

Stacy Flanagan, 44, of High Meadow Road, turned herself in at Westport police headquarters Friday and was charged with sixth-degree larceny and two counts of risk of injury to a minor in connection with the Dec. 31 incident.

Flanagan entered Village Bagels on Post Road East in Westport that day accompanied by two small children and stole a tip jar off the counter, according to the police report.

While the cashier was distracted, Flanagan then stole money from a second tip jar to pay for her order, police said.

After the store's surveillance video of the incident was publicized by local media, police received an anonymous tip that led to the identification of Flanagan, police said Monday.

Flanagan later admitted to taking the tips money, according to police.

She was released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear March 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.
