Fairfield woman drives car straight through garage

FAIRFIELD — A 90-year-old woman was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for observation after she drove her car through her garage door and out the back wall, ending up in a neighbor’s yard.
The woman was not charged in the accident, that happened just before 3 p.m. Oct. 27 on Kings Highway East. Police said the woman told police she thought she had hit the brake pedal. According to police, after going through the garage, the car went through a stockade fence and was stopped by a bush in a yard on Roanoke Road.
Police seized the woman’s driver’s license.
