An Oldfield road resident was arrested drunken-driving and drug charges Saturday morning after he allegedly swerved into oncoming traffic on Stratfield Road.

Police said Michael Bodie, 22, was driving north on Stratfield Road at a high rate of speed and a police officer was traveling south when Bodie swerved into the officer's lane. When the officer turned around and stopped Bodie, he said he smelled an odor of alcohol on Bodie's breath, his eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred. He failed field sobriety tests and even, according to the report, declined to take of the tests, saying, "I'm drunk."

After he was arrested, a pipe and small bag of marijuana was allegedly found in his shirt pocket and another small bag was found on the floor of the car.

Bodie was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was held on bonds totaling $200 and is scheduled to appear Feb. 22 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
