An Easton farmer will talk about community supported agriculture and how it can benefit the community during a program Saturday afternoon, Feb. 11, at the Fairfield Public Library Woods Branch.
The 2 p.m. presentation will be given by Patti Popp, owner of Sport Hill Farm in Easton, at the 1147 Fairfield Woods Road branch.
The program is free, but registration is required.
CSAs are becoming increasingly popular in Fairfield County, the library said. The program helps support small family farms by providing them with working capital in advance to purchase the supplies they need to run their farm.
In return the library said, CSA participants receives fresh, seasonal produce during the growing/harvesting season. The Wood Branch served as a distribution point for a CSA last summer.
