State Rep. Kim Fawcett, D-133, has announced her candidacy for a fourth term in the General Assembly.

In a news release, that Fairfield Democrat said she filed papers for a new campaign committee, "Fawcett 2012."

The 133rd District will have new boundaries, the result of a statewide reconfiguring of legislative territory last year. Fairfield's Greenfield Hill area and Westport's Green's Farms area will no longer be part of the district.

The newly drawn district will encompass primarily the Grasmere, Holland Hill, McKinley, Stratfield and North Stratfield neighborhoods in Fairfield, Fawcett said.

A map of the new district may be viewed online at: www.cga.ct.gov/red2011/Documents/2011MAPHOUTOWN/20112011MAP-20111201_Fairfield.pdf.

"It has been a privilege and an honor to serve our community," Fawcett said in the release. "Each term has presented new ways to put my voice and energy to work for the people of Fairfield. I continue to learn and grow in this important role and have become proud of my record as an independent, results-oriented leader."
