Volunteers headed to Greenfield Hill Congregational Church on Saturday morning to help unfurl the “Field of Flags” exhibit.

The display installed in front of the historic church has more than 7,000 American flags representing U.S. military personnel killed in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It will be on display through July 11.

A small flag is dedicated to each soldier whose life has been lost over the course of the two conflicts, and a list of casualties by name is displayed on a board next to the field.

The Field of Flags was previously displayed at the church in 2013 and, since then, 129 more American service personnel have died.
