Florence Lane home forcibly broken into

A Florence Lane home was reported broken into Friday after the front door was smashed in and the alarm system disabled.

Police said the homeowner's son had checked on the house a day before, the alarm was set and the house locked. When he returned Friday, however, the alarm panel was disconnected, the driveway motion sensor lights removed and the door smashed open. A safe containing a gun and a passport was reported taken.
