The Fairfield Follies has put out a casting call to high school singer-actors to audition for its production of "All Shook Up," the stage musical featuring the music of Elvis Presley.
Auditions are planned at Roger Ludlowe Middle School from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 25, 26 and 27. Candidates need to attend only one session. The auditions were originally slated for Feb. 12 to 14, but were postponed due to the blizzard.
The show will take place in May at Fairfield Warde High School, and auditions are open to high school students from throughout southwestern Connecticut.
At auditions, candidates should be prepared to perform a song. A piano accompanist will be provided, and vocalists may bring sheet music or an instrumental CD.
Some candidates also may be asked to read from a script or perform a dance combination. There is no cost to audition. For those offered parts, the cost will be a costume fee of no more than $50.
Rehearsals will be on Mondays through Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 3:15 to 6 p.m. Cast members will be required to attend only on days when their musical numbers are being rehearsed. Performances are scheduled for May 9, 10 and 11 in the Warde auditorium.
