FAIRFIELD — A former Kohl’s employee was charged with theft when she turned herself in at police headquarters Feb. 24.

Merari Rosario, of Oakview Circle, Bridgeport, was charged with fourth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on March 10.

According to police, security at Kohl’s, 290 Tunxis Hill Road, called to report on Jan. 18 they had an employee, Rosario, who over the last several months had accumulated $1,047 in store credit by returning items that had already been returned. The 41-year-old also allegedly took an additional $320 in merchandise from the store.
