Fairfield Theatre Co. will host a performance by Paul Thorn, a former boxer turned songwriter and blues guitarist, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at StageOne, 70 Sanford St. Doors open 7 p.m.
Thorn's music is influenced by his father, a Church of God Pentecostal minister, and his uncle, a pimp, according to a new release. Born in Tupelo, Miss., he has opened for Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, John Prine and other notable musicians.
Before his musical career, his accomplishments include jumping out of airplanes and fighting world champion boxer Roberto Duran.
