A forum on rebuilding and repairs to damage along Fairfield's shoreline in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, which was postponed after the blizzard of several weeks ago, is now scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Riverfield School, 1625 Mill Plain Road.
The public information session will get under way at 7 p.m. in the all-purpose room of the school.
Among the issues set for discussion are raising structures to avoid storm damage in the future, compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency regulations, height restrictions, flood insurance and the process for financing and securing permits.
Those scheduled to be on hand to answer questions include representatives of FEMA and the Small Business Administration, as well as staff from the town's Building, Planning and Zoning and Conservation departments.
"Given there have been many questions on rebuilding from beach-area residents following Storm Sandy, the town would like to give residents an opportunity to be fully informed on how best to proceed with rebuilding and getting back into their homes," First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a statement announcing the forum.
