A forum on the town's tax-relief programs is planned for Saturday, April 5, in the Fairfield Senior Center.
The gathering is designed for older and disabled property owners to comment and ask questions about the recently revised tax-relief programs, according to Tom McCarthy, chairman of the Representative Town Meeting's Senior and Disabled Tax Relief Committee.
The program starts at 10 a.m.
in the Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace.
Changes to the tax-relief program for eligible senior and disabled residents of Fairfield were approved by the RTM during this past year. Applications for the program are reviewed by the tax assessor and staff from the beginning of February through May 15, the deadline for filing.
Applications can be filed at the Tax Assessor's Office on the first floor of old Town Hall, 611 Old Post Road, Monday to Friday, 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m., or at the Senior Center most Mondays and Wednesdays starting at 9:15 a.m.
