Fairfield's delegation to the state Legislature is scheduled to discuss priorities for the upcoming session during a forum Saturday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, 380 Beach Road.

The free forum is sponsored by the Fairfiled League of Women Voters. Coffee and continental breakfast will be available beginning at 9 a.m.

Scheduled to appear at the forum are state Sen. John McKinney, R-28, and state Reps. Brenda Kupchick, R-132, Kim Fawcett, D-133, and Tony Hwang, R-13.

The 2014 session convenes Feb. 5. The state budget and its impact on state services and taxes again promises to be a major issue. Other key topics, according to the league, could be privacy, government transparency, highway tolls, public safety, nonprofit hospitals, sentencing of juvenile offenders, education, and regulation of puppy mills.

League member and former Assistant Superintendent of Fairfield Schools Margaret Mary Fitzgerald will be the moderator.
