A Meriden man was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in Fairfield when police learned there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest as a fugitive from justice in Orange County, Fla.
Police received a call from Fairfield University campus security around 1:45 p.m. about a man who came into the Human Resources Department, and then walked out without speaking to anyone. An officer spotted Henry Diaz, 27, walking on North Benson Road. They discovered the outstanding warrant for aggravated stalking and took him into custody.
He was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Oct. 7 in Bridgeport Superior Court. Diaz was also warned to stay off the Fairfield University campus.
