A donations drive to help refugees and other immigrants set up their new homes is being sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church in the Southport section of Fairfield.
On Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, the church will host its second annual drive for the New Haven-based Integrated Refugee and Immigrations Services.
The drive will take place in the upper parking lot of the church on the corner of Pequot Avenue and Center Street from noon to 4 p.m. both days.
IRIS is in desperate need of all kinds of furniture for bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms. All items must be in good, usable condition.
IRIS is an organization that accepts refugees and other immigrants from around the world. The organizations' mission is to enable those refugees and other displaced people to establish new lives, regain hope, and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut's communities.
