In a defensive battle, the Greenwich High School boys basketball team downed host Fairfield Ludlowe, 39-27, in an FCIAC matchup on Tuesday.

With the win, Greenwich improved its record to 3-4. The Cardinals led 12-4 after the first quarter, then brought a 16-8 lead into halftime. Senior forward Matt Robins scored a game-high 11 points for Greenwich. Senior forward Oliver Milledge added eight points, while senior guard Jackson Trimmer made a pair of 3-pointers for six points for the Cardinals.

Greenwich, which led 25-21 after three quarters, received five points from senior guard Elias Gianopoulos. Sophomore guard James Bourque scored six of his team-high 10 points in the second half for the Falcons, who were held to four first-half field goals.

Junior guard Jadyn Tabois contributed eight points for Ludlowe. Greenwich hosts St. Joseph Friday at 7 p.m. Ludlowe is in action again Friday against visiting Ridgefield.
