The 50th anniversary of the Junior Women’s Club of Fairfield will be celebrated at Sept. 24 garden party at the Burr Homestead.

The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the mansion, 739 Old Post Road.

The club was formed in 1965 “for the general purpose of performing civic-minded projects promoted by the general membership,” according to event publicity, which has guided its programs since then.

Past and present members of the club are invited to attend the gathering, which organizers say will be highlighted by dedication of the newly renovated Burr Gardens Tea House, which was partially funded with a $2,500 donation by the club to the Burr Gardens Renovation Committee.

Tickets cost $15, and include a $5 donation per ticket to Junior Women’s Club charities. Refreshments will include appetizers, drinks and dessert. Checks made payable to “Fairfield JWC” should be mailed to: Fairfield JWC, P.O. Box 1092, Fairfield, CT 06825.
