The town will sponsor a collection of hazardous household wastes today (Saturday, Aug. 25), from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Veterans Park on Reef Road.

Among the materials that can be dropped off are:

Aerosol cans

Cleaners (household and industrial)

Fluorescent bulbs

Gasoline

Kerosene

Mercury thermometers

Pool chemicals

Pesticides/herbicides

Paint and paint-related products

Batteries, including alkaline, button-cell, lithium, ni-cad, rechargeable and nonrechargeable (batteries should not be mixed; each type should be in a separate bag or box)

Anti-freeze

Oil (unmixed or mixed with other chemicals)

Auto batteries

Propane tanks
