While light snow fell Saturday evening, stately Bellarmine Hall on Fairfield University's campus provided a cozy refuge for supporters of Operation Hope who turned out for the agency's "HeART of Hope" fundraiser.

The event featured a Venetian theme, inspired by the current exhibit at the Bellarmine Museum, "In the Wake of the Butterfly: James Abbott McNeill Whistler and His Circle in Venice."

The fundraiser, coordinated by chairwomen Polly Lynch, Maryann Donovan and Lisa Doocy, benefited Operation Hope's programs to help the homeless and the hungry.

In addition to Italian-accented food and wine, the event featured classical music performed by lyric soprano Michelle Huneycutt Johnson and pianists Aymeric Dupre la Tour and Elena Zamolodchikova.
