Two groups are sponsoring a work party Saturday morning to clean historic gravestones at the Greenfield Hill Cemetery on Bronson Road.

The project, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is sponsored by the Greenfield Hill Village Improvement Society and the Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The groups said in a news release that volunteers may join them, and an expert in gravestone cleaning will provide materials needed and demonstrate the process.

More than 100 veterans of the Revolutionary War are buried in the cemetery, along with veterans of the French and Indian War, the War of 1812 and Civil War, according to the release.
