A holiday salute to those Fairfielders who have served the nation in the armed forces was recently offered by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The DAR's Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter, on a recent Saturday, placed a holiday wreath at the Veterans Honor Roll on Town Hall Green as part of nationwide program to honor military veterans.

The program, Wreaths Across America, was founded by a commercial wreathmaker in Maine that donates wreaths for display at Arlington National Cemetery, and local organizations are encouraged to join in the tribute.
