The executive director of the agency that operates Fairfield's homeless shelters and other supportive housing will talk about the effects of supportive housing during a brown-bag lunch sponsored by the Fairfield League of Women voters.
The program is planned Thursday, Sept. 6, at 12:15 p.m. in the Memorial Room of Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.
The presentation kicks off the league's annual Brown Bag Forum series.
Carla Miklos, executive director of Operation Hope, will talk about affordable-housing initiatives her agency has taken since 2005. She will cover the application process, how staff decides which applicants are likely to thrive in the permanent, affordable units, plus other support services Operation Hope offers tenants.
The league's Brown Bag Forum Series is a monthly program that is free and open to the public. The league encourages attendees to bring lunch, and beverages are provided.
