FAIRFIELD — For the 3rd year in a row, hundreds of caring supporters came out early Sunday morning for the Kennedy Center Autism SpectRUN at Jennings Beach.

Combining a fun run for the kids and a semi-competitive 5K, the event raised funds for the center’s Autism Project, according to Jo Ann McMullan, vice president of development. The work includes after-school and weekend programs, as well as social activity groups.

“This helps because we get very, very little state funding,” she said.
