FAIRFIELD — For the 82nd year in a row Fairfield’s favorite flowering trees were celebrated with the Dogwood Festival.

Greenfield Hill Congregational Church played home to the weekend-long fair, which featured dozens of independent vendors, food, music and a walking tour of the historic area.

“To me it’s a perfect combination of beauty and fun,” said Alida Ward, co-minister, noting that profits are forwarded to a range of charities.

By visiting, she said, “you also have the joy of knowing you’re making a difference.”
