FAIRFIELD — It might have been Santa’s workshop for all the activities on hand.

The Fairfield Museum and History Center hosted a holiday craft event Friday night, alongside the special toy train displays in operation.

“It’s a great night for families,” declared Walter Matis, program & volunteer coordinator. “There are a lot of special things going on.”

Matis gave special thanks to members of the Housatonic Model Railway Club for their displays, as well as Fairfield brothers Jonathan and Chris Huzil, who donated their time in sharing their trains.

“To me that’s community,” Matis said. “That’s what tonight is all about.”
