FAIRFIELD — Thanks to the Gaelic American Club’s Clan Na Gael Players, audiences got a holiday gift of seeing what life would be like with George Bailey and the classic residents of Bedford Falls in their midst.

The Players performed a radio version of “It’s a Wonderful Life” on stage this weekend, with actors in costumes delivering performances at stand-up microphones, accompanied by re-enactments of old-time commercials and a spirit of the past.

“This is just fun to perform,” said Brad Baldwin of Bridgeport, who played the part of Nick the Bartender.

He said the Players are celebrating their 30th anniversary, having started with a play called “Spreading the News” back in 1988, in which he was a performer.
