The Fairfield Theatre Company will have a performance by Jefferson Starship at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at

StageOne, 70 Sanford St.

Jefferson Starship was created by David Freiberg and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner as a descendant of Jefferson Airplane, which performed at major 1960s festivals such as Monterey, Woodstock and Altamont, according to a news release.

The band also shared the bill many times with the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin.

Jefferson Starship, founded in 1970, features lead vocalist Cathy Richardson, who starred in Broadway's "Love, Janis."

In addition to Freiberg, Kantner and Richardson, band members include drummer Donny Baldwin and keyboardist and bassist Chris Smith.

Songs the band is expected to play include "Sara," "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now," "Jane," "Somebody to Love," "Miracles," "Count on Me," "Volunteers" and "White Rabbit."
