An intimate evening featuring nine-time Grammy Award winner Jose Feliciano is planned at the Fairfield Museum and History Center on Saturday, March 29, as part of an ongoing celebration of Fairfield's 375th anniversary.

Feliciano is recognized in the museum's new exhibition, "Fairfield's Rockin' Top Ten," as one of America's most renowned musicians who has called Fairfield and surrounding communities home. Other musicians in the exhibit include Leonard Bernstein, Dave Brubeck, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, Richard Rodgers, Nile Rodgers, Bernard Edwards, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones and Donna Summer.

Feliciano is well-known for many of his songs, including "Light My Fire," which topped the charts globally in 1968 and "Feliz Navidad," the Christmas classic that is a tradition worldwide during the holiday season each year. He has had more than 45 gold and platinum records, had 19 Grammy nominations, and was given the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Award for Lifetime Achievement.

"It's a great pleasure for me to not only be a part of this historic yet vibrant community of Fairfield, but also to be numbered among some of music's greatest names who have, over the years, also been fortunate enough to call it home," Feliciano said.

Feliciano has resided with his family in a 275- year-old home, formerly a tavern, in Fairfield County for more than 20 years.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert at the museum, 370 Beach Road, are $75 and include champagne and dessert following the concert.
