Goodbye summer, hello fall.
The transition in seasons was marked Saturday as the opening day of the Fairfield Kiwanis' annual Juried Arts & Crafts Fair was also the last day of summer, while the second day of the 22nd annual event Sunday was the first of autumn.
Of the fair's two dozen vendors on Town Hall Green, many displayed autumnal wares, including Halloween creations and colorful quilts. An inflatable bounce house called the Wizard's Castle, crafts activities, a kettlecorn truck and burgers sizzling on an open grill added to the fall vibe. Other exhibitors featured jewelry, birdhouses and wooden decor and displays.
The Arts & Crafts Fair, which is free and benefits Kiwanis Club charities, continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. -- rain or shine despite the drizzling start to the day.
