When an officer saw Garrett Denniston's car straddling the shoulder and drifting into the bike lane on Stratfield Road several times Tuesday night, he stopped the car, according to the police report.

When he did, the officer said he saw a small plastic bag, tied with a knot, on the passenger seat. On rear passenger seat was a copper scouring pad that had been pulled apart. Inside the center console was a small white rock-like substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Denniston, 35, of Jackman Avenue, was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. His vehicle was towed and he was released on a $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 29 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

An lawyer, Denniston was arrested in June and again in August on charges of stealing golf clubs from local golf courses.
