As the mother of a 16-month-old son with a second child due in January, I have the highest hopes and aspirations for my children. I want them to have the opportunity to become tomorrow's doctors, writers, engineers, whatever their dreams may be, soaring as high as their talents will take them. But then my husband and I wonder if we will even be able to send our children to college.

Sadly, when I look at the sorry state of America's economy, I am truly fearful for the future of our next generation. With a $16 trillion national debt (poised to quadruple with the retirement of the baby boomer generation) and more than 23 million Americans unemployed, I see the pool of possibilities becoming like quicksand, swallowing up opportunities and individual success with insurmountable tax burdens.

The good news is we are not doomed to lose our future. We have the power to change course. We can begin that course correction Nov. 6 by voting for Steve Obsitnik. Steve understands that small business and entrepreneurship fuel the American Dream. He is the only candidate in this race who has real-world experience, who has built a successful business, and who has created jobs and offers a truly positive and exciting vision for our country.

As a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, Steve learned that real leadership is not about giving speeches but achieving results, and he learned to lead by example and always to put service above self. Steve has the experience to get our economy growing again, and the courage to work through the quagmire in Washington. Please vote for a better future for our children. Please vote for Steve Obsitnik for Congress this November.
