There is a great deal of comfort in supporting candidates with good name recognition, years of valuable experience, and a strong record of leadership. That is why Catherine Albin, who recently filled a vacancy on the Board of Finance, received the endorsement from the Democrats to be a candidate for the board's four-year term.
Catherine served two six-year terms on the Fairfield Board of Education, where she was twice elected chairman. During her 12 years on that board, it opened a second high school, conducted numerous school renovation and new-contruction projects and oversaw the changing educational needs of more than 10,000 students. In addition, she served as liaison to the the Board of Health, and was involved in several contract negotiations, the hiring of the last two superintendents, and in the preparation of annual education budgets.
Even though the education budget is larger than the town side, Catherine made it her business to understand the larger picture. She also made an effort to meet with all of the town officials involved in the process to make it all work for the good of all citizens of Fairfield.
As if that weren't enough to manage, she also initiated and worked on a town green project to enhance the beauty and continuity of Burr Gardens.
Please join me in supporting Catherine Albin, an endorsed candidate for the Board of Finance, who would continue to watch over the fiscal well being of our town.
