I am in full agreement with Lori Hashizume's letter of July 5 regarding the sorry state of Southport Beach courtesy of the King Brothers ("Once-placid beach now a Hawaii Five-0 scene").

It's a mystery to me why the town ever allowed these concessionaires to inflict their garish plastic palms, beach chairs and makeshift tents on this beautiful little gem of a beach, both last year and this year to date.

Please, please, Town of Fairfield, get a grip. End the King Brothers presence at Southport Beach at once and go forward with the very sensible plan of using food-service trucks to provide refreshments for beach goers.
