I want to congratulate Philip Dwyer for serving on the Board of Education these past four years and thank him for agreeing to run for re-election. I sincerely hope he is re-elected to the board.

I have been an active parent in our school system for many years and have attended a great many Board of Education meetings. Mr. Dwyer’s focus on fiscal responsibility, academic excellence and better communications provides the balance we need from all board members.

The school district has just adopted a new, Five-Year District Improvement Plan that is based on “… every student acquiring the knowledge to be a life-long learner, responsible citizen and successful participant in an every changing global society through a comprehensive educational program.”

The plan was adopted under the leadership of Phil Dwyer as chair, Jessica Gerber secretary and Jennifer Maxon-Kennelly who chairs the board’s Policy Committee. All three are seeking re-election to the board. We need their thoughtful and dedicated focus and experience to providing top quality education to each of our children. I believe they appreciate that this is done with the taxes we pay. Re-electing Mr. Dwyer, Ms. Gerber and Ms. Maxon-Kennelly will help that the newly ratified long range plan brings the predicted benefits to our students and our community.

Please vote for Philip Dwyer, Jessica Gerber and Jennifer Maxon-Kennelly. They deserve re-election.
