The Fairfield Public Library's main and Fairfield Woods branches are offering a variety of afternoon children's activities and classes this summer, including games, crafts, reading and technology sessions.
All are geared to specific age groups and are free. Both branches are air conditioned..
Both branches also will screen feature films suitable for all ages one day a week.
Classes and activities at the main branch, 1080 Old Post Road, include:
"Piece It Together!," for grades K-2, Wednesdays at 2 p.m. through July 16.
"Theatre Games," for grades 1-3, Wednesdays at 2 p.m. July 23-Aug. 6.
"Giggles and Games," for Grades K-2, Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. through Aug. 5.
"Shuffle It!," for grades 3-5, Mondays at 3:30 p.m. June 30-Aug. 4.
"Bringing Apps to Life," for grades 3-5, Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. through July 17.
"Friday Flix" will offer a feature film for all grades (with an adult) Fridays at 2 p.m. through Aug. 8.
Activities at the Fairfield Woods branch, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road, include:
"Crazy 8s" for grades K-2 Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. through July 31.
"Read It! Make It! Play It!," for grades K-2, Mondays June 30-Aug. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
"Weave It & Leave It!," for grades 2 and up with an adult, Mondays at 3 p.m. through Aug. 4.
"Minute to Win It!," for grades 3-5, Tuesdays July 22-Aug. 5 at 3:30 p.m.
"Movie Marathon" each Monday will screen feature films at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., through Aug. 4. Each moviegoer gets a free bag of popcorn.
