Library to hold teen 'Create Day' event

Fairfield Public Library will hold a "Create" Day for teens grades six and up from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Fairfield Woods Branch Library, 1147 Fairfield Woods Road.

Participants will have a chance to create spine label poetry, where books are stacked to create a poem with the titles and then photographed; book quote image posters and 300-word flash fiction pieces inspired by book covers on the library's Tumblr; and video reviews of a book, movie, song, TV show or game.

The teen librarians will be there to help attendees, who will earns points toward the "Create" badge in the library's Teen Summer Challenge. Those who cannot come to the library can work on their projects at home and then upload to their "Teen Summer Challenge" profile.
