A lottery to determine the ballot placement of candidates running for municipal office this November — in contests where more than two will be elected — will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Registrars of Voters office in Old Town Hall.

State law requires multiple-candidate offices to be listed on the ballot by a random lottery. Names of candidates for the Board of Finance, Board of Education, Town Plan and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Constables and Representative Town Meeting will be pulled from a glass jar to determine where they will be listed on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Interested individuals are welcome to attend.
