FAIRFIELD — The owner of the Sky Hookah Lounge on Kings Highway was charged with disorderly conduct thanks to a loud music complaint early Sunday morning.
Police received a call just before 2 a.m. May 14 from a Longfellow Avenue resident. The responding officer found the music, and particularly the bass line, could be heard from outside the lounge. A disc jockey, who was providing music, was located near the door, and the owner, Anwar Malas, refused to go outside to talk to officers. According to the report, Malas, 28, denied the music was too loud.
Malas, of Quincy Street, was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Bridgeport on May 23. The lounge closed for the night while the officer was at the scene.
