Cody McMahon, 20, of Melville Drive, was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer after he refused to leave Penfield Pavilion on Friday night at the conclusion of the town Recreation Department's Beach Fest.

McMahon refused to listen to an officer, according to the report, and began to fight with him. He also led the officer on a brief foot pursuit during which some people in the crowd began to follow the officer, but were eventually dispersed. The officer who handcuffed McMahon suffered several cuts on his hands and was bleeding.

McMahon was held on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear June 22 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
