A Stamford man was arrested Sunday night after fighting with the mother of his child, police said.

Marvin Alfaro, 35, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Knights of Columbus hall at 333 Unquowa Road when Alfaro reportedly physically assaulted the woman, police said.

The woman subsequently reported the incident at police headquarters, stating that Alfaro apparently was upset that she had been late in arriving to pick up their child.

Alfaro's bond was set at $500, and he was scheduled to appear Monday in Bridgeport Superior Court.
