Peter G. Dunlop, III, 47, of Taylor Place, was charged with interfering with an officer and disorderly conduct after a disturbance at the Operation Hope homeless shelter, 50 Nichols Street, on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Dunlop had been asked by the shelter manager to leave because he was intoxicated. He was in the lobby yelling and swearing at the manager, and then resisted efforts by police to sit down because he was unsteady on his feet. According to the report, Dunlop also resisted attempts to get him into an ambulance and had to be subdued with a stun gun. Dunlop also swore and yelled at the paramedics.

He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and released into hospital custody. Dunlop is scheduled to June 19 appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
